Hello beautiful ones,
This episode of the fireside chat is jam-packed with goodies. We’re talking about loving environments, intimacy with your inner world, where do you make your decisions from and knowing yourself deeply.
The essence of today’s episode is all about self-knowledge and I’ve shared below a little taste of the goodness.
Have you ever noticed how much harder it is to lead yourself well in your life and relationships when you don’t have a tonne of intimacy with what’s truly going on inside of you? Have you noticed that when you start slowly down and creating space for your self things start feeling a little lighter and easier?
I love to harp on about an opulent existence and I define this as creating a life that feels spacious, intentional, and aligned with your deepest values. It's about how you spend your time, nurture your spirit, and honor your unique rhythm of growth. It takes time and effort to cultivate this. It’s also a big part of raising your personal standards for what you will and will not accept from yourself and others in your life. Knowing these things comes from within.
One of my favourite 12 step tools is The Three A's: Awareness. Acceptance. Action. Most of us rush to change the moment we become aware of something. But true transformation happens when we sit with acceptance. Instead of immediately trying to fix ourselves or a situation, we learn to hold our patterns with compassion, waiting for intuitive guidance and learning to love the parts of us that we may be newly seeing. This can be incredibly hard to do…AND if you can learn this one and apply it to your life, I’m telling you game-changer.
If you’re a chief rescuer, co-dependent, emmesher like me, then you should definitely listen to this episode to hear me talk more about this.
I’ve spent the large part of the last year sitting in acceptance of my mistakes, messes, missteps and misjudgements and I’m a better woman for it. Knowing myself in the places I was previously unaware and full of judgement has been so growthful and it’s allowed me to act and made new decisions from a new place. I repeat: a new place. Not repeating the pattern that I’ve repeated 1000 before because I was too impatient and uncomfortable to learn how to sit still.
This has done wonders for my self-leadership and self-esteem because I’m not waiting for someone to tell me what to do next and I have repaired a lot of mistrust. I feel a lot more confidence and trust that I’ve got me. Even when I forget, which happens often, I can always come back to “What do I need to accept about myself or my situation before I can truly and honestly move forward? “ This has been an incredibly loving re-frame and tool.
I have been talking a lot recently about being in the right environments and relationships that are truly supporting you. I go into this more deeply on the episode. Just like a plant needs the right soil, you need environments that support your growth. The wrong relationship, community, or coaching container can deplete your energy. The right one? It helps you bloom.
What qualities does a relationship need to have for you to flourish? Where do you feel the clearest and most supported in your life currently? What environments support your deepest growth?
I find it is helpful to start with where you’re already winning. Know yourself deeply. Understand your desires, fears, and patterns. Recognize that your inner landscape is rich and complex. The more intimately you know yourself, the more authentically you can show up in the world.
And finally, we touch on comparison. Our old friend comparison. Where all love goes to die. Stop comparing. Your growth has its own pace, its own season. Some seasons are for planting, others for harvesting. Honor where you are right now.
Please my loves, honour when you are right now.
